What should I do? Here are a few things to consider: When a woman is upset about something, most women talk to their friends and lean on their support group. Guys, on the other hand, typically view themselves as weak and incapable if they voice their feelings or lean on other people for help or support. The way women handle difficult emotions is much more psychologically healthy and healing, but it is what it is. Next, make sure that you give him space the right way. What does that mean? If you start offering help or support to him, a lot of guys will actually resent it. Playing therapist typically backfires for the reasons stated above. When he feels relief from you, it will be easier for him to work out his own issues.
Should I go by ultrasound date size or LMP
In making the case for changes to the entry-level license, the ARRL Board’s Entry-Level License Committee referred to “the large number of Baby Boomers roughly born – 65 [who] will soon be aging off the licensee rolls. The goal of the project, under way since last year, has been to create the proper technical support system so that radio amateurs can submit LoTW confirmations for WAZ credit, and that has been accomplished, CQ and ARRL said in a joint statement.
LoTW — ARRL’s electronic confirmation system for Amateur Radio contacts –provides contact confirmation when both stations upload their logs to the system, and a match between the logs is confirmed. Listen on your computer, tablet, or smartphone — whenever and wherever you like!
The probe is then gently inserted a short distance into the vagina.
Contact Us Early Pregnancy Scan 6 weeks We at MUMS understand that the first few months of pregnancy can be quite an anxious time for many women with various concerns as to whether the pregnancy is developing normally or that it may result in a miscarriage or even an ectopic pregnancy. An Early Pregnancy Scan sometimes also called a Viability Scan or Dating Scan provides reassurance in this very early stage of your pregnancy.
A pregnancy can be seen from as early as 6 weeks from the first day of your last period LMP and not the date of conception. If you have had any bleeding or pain or any other symptoms then this scan will accurately confirm viability. Sometimes it is requested by a doctor or midwife to confirm that your pregnancy is healthy in this case your scan is often called a viability scan and to calculate the date when your baby is due usually referred to as a dating scan.
It can also be performed to confirm the results of a pregnancy test or just to provide you with some reassurance that all is progressing as it should be.
Concerns Regarding Early Fetal Development
History of Technology Heroes and Villains – A little light reading Here you will find a brief history of technology. Initially inspired by the development of batteries, it covers technology in general and includes some interesting little known, or long forgotten, facts as well as a few myths about the development of technology, the science behind it, the context in which it occurred and the deeds of the many personalities, eccentrics and charlatans involved. You may find the Search Engine , the Technology Timeline or the Hall of Fame quicker if you are looking for something or somebody in particular.
Scroll down and see what treasures you can discover. Background We think of a battery today as a source of portable power, but it is no exaggeration to say that the battery is one of the most important inventions in the history of mankind. Volta’s pile was at first a technical curiosity but this new electrochemical phenomenon very quickly opened the door to new branches of both physics and chemistry and a myriad of discoveries, inventions and applications.

Share Can the nub theory show the sex of my baby? Some parents-to-be are desperate to find out the sex of their unborn baby as early as possible, and will search for clues at the very first scan. Which is pointless, isn’t it? Everyone knows you can’t tell the baby’s sex at the 12 week or there abouts dating scan. At a glance The nub theory searches for clues at the first scan The theory says that the genital tuber will stick up for boys and out for girls Your baby needs to be in a very good position for you to see this part of them Well, some people think you can, thanks to a little known phenomenon called the ‘nub theory’.
How does it work? The nub theory works on the basis that from 12 weeks, boys’ genitals or the genital tuber, as they are not actually properly shaped bits and pieces at this stage, and both sexes will have a little tube- like protrusion will be angled differently to a girls’, and so by carefully examining your scan picture, you can work out the sex. What the experts say Experts in the theory reckon that if you are having a little girl, the tuber will be sticking out horizontally, while if you are expecting a little boy, their ‘nub’ will be pointing upwards it might help you make comparisons if you compare your scan pics with those of a baby who has already been born, or whose sex is known.
First trimester ultrasounds
The details are also securely saved on our fetal database so that we are able to monitor the growth of your baby during future scans. Why have an early pregnancy scan? The early pregnancy scan is the first pregnancy scan that you can have and is not routinely available on the NHS. It is often done if you are not sure if you are pregnant or to provide reassurance in the very early stages of your pregnancy. It is particularly reassuring for women who have suffered a previous miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.
An early pregnancy scan will:
Missed or inevitable abortion.
Add message Report nosexpleaseimpregnant Wed Aug The conception calculator will tell you weeks but your doctor would make that weeks going by LMP. The clearblue test goes on the level of hcg roughly in your urine and also depends on what time of day you’ve done the tests. First wee in the morning will have a higher level of hcg due to the high concentration of the wee. Conception is a minefield because sperm stays alive in your body for up to 7 days and it could take an extra 2 days post ovulation to fertilise the egg!!
I am making myself miserable which I suppose might be a symptom in itself! But there is nothing I can do about it except drive myself up the wall!
is it ok to have dating scan at 15 weeks
To ultrasound or not to ultrasound? That is the question. For most pregnant mamas, ultrasounds are just a given. As a natural mama, we want to avoid as many interventions as possible during pregnancy and birth. Some studies also found that when women had an ultrasound for dating they were less likely to be induced for post-term pregnancy. However, if you have a practitioner like a midwife who is ok with continuing to closely monitor a post-term pregnancy, this may not be an issue for you.
Some hospitals offer a nuchal translucency ultrasound to all women at 11 to 14 weeks, but this isn’t available everywhere.
Sorry, something has gone wrong. Your pregnancy will still be counted as 40 weeks so they will take the date of conception and add two weeks to it. Even women who know their lmp, when they ovulated and conceived and the scan backs all this up are still likely to give birth outside of their due date. The scan is supposed to be accurate to within a few days which somehow by the end of pregnancy has grown to an entire month! That’s the crazy work of science for you. So for example if your due date was 15 May you could give birth two weeks either side of that and not actually be considered early or late.
Although most women consider themselves late once they’ve gone over their due date it’s not how medical professionals will view it. Technically the earlier the scan is done the more accurate the due date and even by around 12 weeks it can be out. Very early on the foetus doesn’t vary much in size between women but as it grows it varies just like all babies vary in size at birth.
Since the date is worked out my taking measurements of the foetus it is a bit hit and miss.
How accurate is a dating ultrasound, really
Underestimation of gestational age by conventional crown-rump length growth curves. Reprinted with permission of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Variations in the measurement of CRL can be attributed to differences in fetal growth patterns. Such differences are related to factors similar to those that influence birth weight curves, including maternal age and parity, prepregnancy maternal weight, geographic location, and population characteristics.
These include incorporation of the yolk sac or lower limbs in the CRL measurement, excessive curling or extension of the fetus, and tangential section of the trunk. The biparietal diameter BPD is one of the most commonly measured parameters in the fetus.
Thanks again for all your help.
Like you, apparently a girl, low risk. On your form they give you a percentage of free floating DNA found in your blood. So the fact it doesn’t work if there’s not enough is kind of reassuring – means that they know what is definitely baby and what is definitely the mother. Harmony is accurate to 1 in 10, for a negative result hence the number. So whilst there have been false negatives, I imagine there can’t have been many!
I do understand where you are coming from – I have the doubts as well especially as the technology is new. The above is what I tell myself repeatedly!
